28th seed Alison Riske made short work of Ylina In-Albon on Monday on her favourite surface. The 31-year-old memorably reached the quarter-finals here back in 2019 before defeat to Serena Williams, shortly after winning her second WTA title at ‘s-Hertogenbosch. After retuning from a long injury, Riske won her third WTA title at last season’s Linz Open and she came close to a fourth this month as she finished runner-up to Beatriz Haddad-Maia at the Nottingham Open. This looks a suitable draw for the American against 20-year-old Maja Chwalinska but the Pole has impressed on grass this month and she stunned Katerina Siniakova in straight sets on Monday after qualifying well last week. Riske should have too much experience to fall foul of an upset here but world number 170 Chwalinska’s performances at SW19 so far deserve the respect of an outright pick for the American.
