MAGDA LINETTE VS MIRRA ANDREEVA PREDICTION
Magda Linette received all the plaudits following her second round win last time as she completely dominated third seed Jasmine Paolini 6-4 6-0 in what was arguably the performance of the tournament so far. The Polish 31-seed had an incredible 97% on her first serve and she dominated the match from start to finish.
That will give her huge confidence as she now faces 17-year-old and 17th seed Russian prodigy Mirra Andreeva. The talented youngster has dropped the first set in both of her matches so far against Irina Camelia-Begu and then Donna Vekic but she has fought back impressively in both matches to progress.
She will not be afforded the luxury of starting slowly against Linette as she might find it much harder to battle back against the Pole. The pair have played each other twice and won a match apiece with both being won in straight sets.
It was Linette that won the most recent meeting at the Olympics but it is Andreeva who is favoured to get the win here. We think she will edge it and we also favour this match being ended in straight sets with under 21.5 games our preference.
