World number 45 Liudmila Samsonova looks like the player to beat in Cleveland as she extended her winning streak to seven matches with a straight-sets victory over Laura Siegemund. The 23-year-old has conceded just four games so far this week in a continuation if the form that saw her claimed a second WTA title at the Citi Open earlier this month, here she beat the likes of Elise Mertens, Ajla Tomljanovic, Emma Raducanu and Kaia Kanepi in the final. World number 67 Magda Linette should not be underestimated, though, after two impressive results over Yulia Putintseva and Sorana Cirstea. The Pole famously stunned Ons Jabeur in the first round of Roland-Garros on her favoured clay back in June and she can be dangerous when backed into a corner. Samsonova looks the business this week, though, and backing her to come through this tough test outright seems the sensible concession.
