23-year-old Francisco Cerundolo will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of at least 24th no matter the outcome of this semi-final after ousting Aslan Karatsev in three sets on Friday. The Argentine is riding an eight-match winning streak after claiming his maiden ATP title at the Bastad Open last weekend, with the likes of Casper Ruud, Pablo Carreno Busta and Andrey Rublev amongst that number alongside now two victories over Karatsev. World number 62 Lorenzo Musetti is also at his best on the clay and the Italian has impressed this week in Gstaad, with a straight-sets victory over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on Friday something of an upset. The 20-year-old has huge potential, on this surface especially, and a first meeting with in form Cerundolo is a tricky one to call. Musetti is a high-ceiling player capable of winning this tournament at his best but Cerundolo has been playing consistently well for the best part of this season. Take the Argentine to win outright, tentatively, or to win at least a set as the likelier of two very capable finalists.
