26-year-old Beatriz Haddad-Maia is back up to her career-high WTA world ranking of 15th this week, built mostly upon reaching the Canada Masters final last month. The Brazilian won her first two WTA titles this summer and back-to-back at the Nottingham Open and Birmingham Classic on grass. A three-set victory over Xinyu Wang on Tuesday was a fairly choppy way to start the Tallinn Open but she should be considered a serious title contender here in Estonia if she can get past a tricky rising star in Linda Noskova. 17-year-old Noskova came back from a set down to beat Diane Parry on Monday after qualifying well over the weekend. The Czech is clearly a star of the future alongside her compatriot and fellow Linda, Linda Fruhvirtova, but in-form Haddad-Maia should be too powerful at this moment in time. Back the third seed to win outright here, probably in two.
