Former world number 23 Lesia Tsurenko thoroughly enjoyed her time on the grass over the last few weeks, with runs to the quarter-finals of the Eastbourne International and third round at Wimbledon seeing great results over the likes of Elena Rybakina – now Wimbledon champion – and Anhelina Kalinina. The 33-year-old looks the favourite on form here but 20-year-old Kamila Rakhimova overcame Elena-Gabriela Ruse in three sets on Monday for a strong result, in keeping with some reasonable form of late. The Russian recently stunned Liudmila Samsonova at the Bad Homburg Open and this could be a tough transition from grass to clay for Tsurenko, despite her experience. Take the Ukrainian to win at least a set as the likelier victor with three sets pretty likely.
