World number 48 Nuria Parrizas-Diaz reached the quarter-finals of the Rabat Open this week before losing to Luica Bronzetti in three sets on Thursday. The 30-year-old improved rapidly last year from a relative unknown on the ITF circuit to a regular on tour, although recently she has struggled to impose herself on tournaments. This looks a reasonably winnable fixture against French wildcard Leolia Jeanjean, with the world number 225 making her Grand Slam debut at 26 years old. Jeanjean has found recent success on the ITF circuit and will be a tough force for Parrizas-Diaz to stop in what is the most important match of the Frenchwoman’s career. The Spaniard should be able to come through in straight sets but there is more than scent of an upset here. Take Parrizas-Diaz to win at least a set for a perhaps over-cautious pick.
