26-year-old Beatriz Haddad-Maia enjoyed a huge 12-match winning streak this month, winning her first two WTA titles at the Nottingham Open and Birmingham Classic before eventual Eastbourne International champion Petra Kvitova won their semi-final on Friday. The Brazilian has yet to make it past the second round of any Grand Slam but this kind of form coming into Wimbledon makes her a creditable title-contender in a wide-open WTA draw and it will be fascinating to see how she pushes on after defeat. World number 60 Kaja Juvan enjoyed a run to the Strasbourg Open final on her favoured clay in May but the Slovenian has lost both of her grass-court matches so far this month. Feasibly Haddad-Maia should be winning this match in straight sets on her new-found favourite surface but it would be suitably cautious to take her as an outright winner here before making a decision on her chances this fortnight.
