29-year-old Jason Kubler faces fellow Aussie James Duckworth here in a match with a backdrop of near-misses and misfortune behind it. Kubler’s story from a former world number one junior to at one point a part-time coach away from the tour, having endured multiple knee surgeries over the years for a chronic, incurable condition, is nothing short of remarkable and his run to the round of 16 at Wimbledon last week something miraculous.
