World number 106 Harriet Dart made short work of Camila Osorio on Monday, dropping just two games to the Colombian to continue her strong form on grass. The 25-year-old lost in three sets t eventual runner-up Alison Riske at the Nottingham Open last week after a career-best ranking win over Camila Giorgi and she also enjoyed a shock run to the round of 16 at Indian Wells back in March. Former world number one Simona Halep remains the heavy favourite here, though, as a former Wimbledon champion. The 30-year-old will aim to put an ultimately frustrating clay swing behind her but there is the slightest scent of an upset about this match considering she has failed to win back-to-back matches at her last two tournaments. Halep beat Dart in straight sets in their only previous meeting at the 2020 Australian Open and three sets is a distinct possibility on the Brit’s recent form.
