This is a huge opportunity for one of world number 103 Harriet Dart and number 132 Nuria Parrizas-Diaz to make a tour-level semi-final. The pair met only recently in the final of the Canberra Challenger last month, where Parrizas-Diaz won in straight sets to level their head-to-head at 2-2, and they are also tied at tour-level (1-1) with a win apiece on hardcourts in 2022. Both players have taken out big seeds this week, with Dart coming back from a set down to oust fifth seed Elisabetta Cocciaretto on Thursday and Parrizas-Diaz ousting third seed Anna Blinkova on Wednesday, but Dart has spent much longer on court having come through qualifying over the weekend. Given her result in Canberra last month, take Parrizas-Diaz to earn at least a set to leave the victor up to chance.
