World number 19 Grigor Dimitrov beat Adrian Mannarino in three sets on Wednesday for a first win since mid-June, snapping a two-match losing streak. The 31-year-old won his only Masters title to date almost exactly five years ago at the Cincinnati Open but he has failed to add to his eight career titles since ending that year as the ATP Finals champion. World number 54 Sebastian Korda should one day find himself in as prestigious a tournament as that year-end competition but the 22-year-old has endured an odd season so far. Korda is one of only a few players to have beaten Carlos Alcaraz this season, and on clay to boot with a huge performance at the Monte Carlo Open, but he has struggled to impose himself on a tournament since reaching the semi-finals of the Estoril Open in April. The American will be well-backed in this first meeting and he has so far impressed with back-to-back straight-set victories over Ilya Ivashka and Sebastian Baez but this match looks like going the distance. Take Korda to win at least a set as the just-about likelier victor or go for the riskier three-set option.
