THE PREDICTION

World number 20 Grigor Dimitrov came unstuck against Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Madrid Open last week but the Bulgarian has been in excellent form across the clay swing so far. The 30-year-old reached the semi-finals of the Monte-Carlo Open last month via victories over Casper Ruud and Hubert Hurkacz and he dismissed Diego Schwartzman for just three conceded games last week in Madrid. World number 76 Brandon Nakashima qualified well this weekend with two impressive results against Ugo Humbert and Kamil Majchrzak and he could be win with a chance in a first meeting with Dimitrov who is so often caught cold by players he should be beating comfortably. Until the former world number three plays a match we have little idea as to how he will fare in any given week. The sensible move is taking Dimitrov to win at least a set but the shrewd one might be taking Nakashima to win at least one. Never include Dimitrov’s matches in an accumulator.
