THE PREDICTION
The future of Argentine tennis is in strong hands between 23-year-old Francisco Cerundolo and 21-year-old Sebastian Baez, who meet on tour for the first time. Both players have enjoyed great results and deep runs this season, with Baez claiming his first ATP title at the Estoril Open in May and Cerundolo producing a searing run to the semi-finals of the Miami Open in March. Cerundolo can name the top seed Casper Ruud and Pablo Carreno Busta amongst his scalps this week whilst Baez knocked out the second seed Andrey Rublev on Saturday, both of which are career-best ranking wins. With little to split the two this should be an exciting but unpredictable final. Both players will set new career-high ATP world rankings here but the winner will break the top 30 for a first time. If you had to pick the player in better recent form Cerundolo gets the nod here but Baez has the experience of winning a final under his belt. The sensible call is backing Cerundolo to win at least a set but this could be a good candidate for taking three sets and leaving the winner up to chance.
