World number 30 Francisco Cerundolo is riding a six-match winning streak after claiming his maiden ATP title at the Bastad Open last week. The 23-year-old coped well with the post-title depreciation, coming back from a set down against Daniel Altmaier on Tuesday to avoid an upset, and he will be by far the better for it moving forwards in Gstaad. World number eight Andrey Rublev is something of a steamroller at this level and he beat Ricardas Berankis in straight sets on Wednesday in keeping with some strong work at the Bastad Open, where he lost to eventual runner-up Sebastian Baez. Rublev is a solid all-courter with a great game on clay but Cerundolo has beaten the likes of Casper Ruud, Aslan Karatsev, Pablo Carreno Busta and Baez during his current run and his momentum on this surface suggests he can be backed, tentatively, to cause a mini-upset here. Leave this match out of an accumulator, though, or take Cerundolo to win at least a set inside one.
