THE PREDICTION

World number nine Felix Auger-Aliassime came out swinging on Wednesday to beat Argentine qualifier Camilo Ugo Carabelli in straight sets in a great response to his five-set slog against qualifier Juan Pablo Varillas in the first round. The 21-year-old has reached the quarter-finals in each of his last four tournaments on clay as he works under supercoach Toni Nadal to improve his ability on the surface and he also reached the last eight of the Australian Open back in January. This will be a stern challenge against in-form clay specialist Filip Krajinovic, who has so far ousted the 17th seed Reilly Opelka and Borna Gojo for just one conceded set. The 30-year-old reached the Hamburg Open final last season on clay form that saw him stun Stefanos Tsitsipas but those kinds of performances are few and far between for the Serb. Auger-Aliassime has won the last two meetings with Krajinovic to level their head-to-head at 2-2 and backing the Canadian outright here looks a reasonable risk.
