World number 11 Daria Kasatkina overcame Emma Raducanu in straight sets on Tuesday to get her Ostrava Open campaign underway, her first match on tour since a shock first round exit at the US Open. The 25-year-old has won two WTA titles this season at the Silicon Valley Classic and Granby Open on hardcourts but she faces compatriot Ekaterina Alexandrova next in similar recent form. 27-year-old Alexandrova came into Ostrava at a career-high WTA world ranking of 21st after claiming her second title of the season last week at the Korea Open and she made it six wins on the spin with a three-set victory over Victoria Azarenka. Kasatkina beat Alexandrova in three sets on grass this summer in Berlin to take a 2-1 lead in their head-to-head record but their last two meetings have been very tight. Back Kasatkina to win at least a set, as she has done in all three of their meetings, and leave the winner up to chance.
