World number 19 Pablo Carreno Busta lost to Swiss qualifier Antoine Bellier in his first match at the Mallorca Open in pretty disappointing fashion on Wednesday. The 30-year-old beat Holger Rune and Sebastian Korda at the Halle Open before defeat to Nick Kyrgios and he is more often than not a hardy, tough-to-beat baseliner across all surfaces. Carreno Busta has twice been a US Open semi-finalist but the Spaniard has lost each of his six Wimbledon matches for a poor 0-6 record.
PCB’s record suggests world number 63 Dusan Lajovic could provide one of the first upsets at SW19 despite a 1-3 deficit in his head-to-head with the Spaniard. 31-year-old Lajovic has lost each of the last three meetings with Carreno Busta, most recently at the Hamburg Open last season, but he has found some decent results this season and ha has fared better at Wimbledon than his opponent over the years.
