Current world number two Ons Jabeur is the third seed at Wimbledon and so far playing like it, conceding just four games each to Mirjam Bjorkland and Katarzyna Kawa. The 27-year-old won the third WTA title of her career, and second on grass, two weeks ago at the Berlin Open and she set her best Grand Slam run here last season with a quarter-finals exit to Aryna Sabalenka. Jabeur’s greatest achievement to date was a first Masters title won at the Madrid Open back in May and she reached the final of the Italian Open a week later before defeat to Iga Swiatek, with the pair looking favourites to meet in the final here next Saturday. 19-year-old Diane Parry is a step-up from Jabeur’s first two opponents, though, and she should not be underestimated. The Frenchwoman set a new career-high WTA world ranking of 77th this month after a run to the third round of Roland-Garros – where she beat the defending champion Barbora Krejcikova – and she beat the 31st seed here, Kaia Kanepi, in the first round. Jabeur should be able to take this first meeting nonetheless but you would be forgiven for taking her as outright winner inside an accumulator.
