The winner of the Korea Open is likely to come from this semi-final on Saturday with both world number 24 Denis Shapovalov and number 46 Jenson Brooksby well aware that this is the biggest challenge left in Seoul. 23-year-old Shapovalov is yet to drop a set this week but Brooksby is a significant improvement on his previous foes, although the fact that he has reached the last four at a tournament suggests he can go all the way as a player who rarely dials into a campaign until he nears its end. 21-year-old Brooksby has reached three finals on the ATP tour but he has ridden his luck a little so far, receiving a walkover to the semi-finals after second-seed Cam Norrie contracted covid-19 on Friday. Two of the hotter heads on tour meet for a first time on Saturday in what could be a proper thriller but Brooksby has the game to frustrate Shapovalov into making high-percentage shots. Whether or not the Canadian keeps those shots inside the lines will be the difference here but back Brooksby to snatch at least one set here.
