World number four Daniil Medvedev is yet to drop a set this week in Vienna and back-to-back assured performances over Dominic Thiem and Jannik Sinner suggests he is the favourite to go in and win the title on Sunday. The 26-year-old could do with that after claiming just one ATP title this season at the Los Cabos Open, although finishing runner-up Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open provides the Russian with plenty of points in the race for Turin. World number 32 Grigor Dimitrov stunned another ATP Finals chaser in Andrey Rublev this week and he predictably struggled to replicate that intensity to edge through a three-set quarter-final with Marcos Giron. The former world number three’s form is growing ever more erratic on tour but he did beat Medvedev in one of his best-ever performances around this time last season at Indian Wells. Medvedev still leads their head-to-head record 3-2, though, and he looks the likely finalist from this potential thriller. Back the Russian to win outright.
