The 28-year-old looked in great shape in New York before a tough three-set defeat to Aryna Sabalenka in what has proved to be the best season of her career despite injuries, with a first Grand Slam final reached at the Australian Open before defeat to Ash Barty. Collins should have more than enough to oust world number 31 Martina Trevisan in this first meeting with the Italian. The 28-year-old is a force to be reckoned with on clay but she has very few hardcourt results to speak of this season, despite a solid win over fellow clay aficionado Camila Osorio on Monday.
