World number 26 Dan Evans did well to recalibrate from what looked a tough task in Matteo Berrettini to the injured Italian’s replacement, Oscar Otte. The 32-year-old beat Otte in straight sets on Tuesday in keeping with his recent strong form on hardcourts, most recently taking eventual champion Felix Auger-Aliassime to three sets in the quarter-finals of last week’s European Open.
