The 32-year-old beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets at Melbourne 2 last year to claim his first title on tour and his other two ATP finals have also come on hardcourts at similar tournaments to San Diego. 30-year-old Constant Lestienne will be a tough force to stop here as the Frenchman enjoys some of the best form of his long career. Lestienne will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of around 67th after reaching his first ever tour quarter-final with wins over Brandon Holt and Alejandro Tabilo. The Frenchman has reached three Challenger finals in recent months but Evans should be able to weather this particular storm. The Brit knows there will be few chances like this to win titles at this stage of his career and he can be backed to come through outright.
