22-year-old Elena Rybakina reached the round of 16 here last season and whilst she has so far struggled on grass this month the tall, powerful Kazakh has all the tools to be a serious threat on the surface. Rybakina set a new career-high WTA world ranking of 12th earlier this season after finishing runner-up to Ash Barty at Adelaide 1 but she has since struggled with fitness and form. Rybakina may well have struggled with her original draw against the uber-consistent Shuai Zhang but Madison Keys’ withdrawal from Wimbledon has shifted the pack to give world number 157 Coco Vandeweghe a second chance. The lucky loser is at her best on grass with two ‘s-Hertogenbosch titles to her name but Rybakina should have more than enough to win this first encounter comfortably. Back the Kazakh to win outright for a spot of caution given the circumstances.
