World number six Carlos Alcaraz stared down a fierce challenge by in-form Filip Krajinovic on Thursday, coming back from a break down in the first set to win in two. The 19-year-old already owns four ATP titles on clay, five overall, including the Rio Open, Barcelona Open and Madrid Masters from this season as he looks set to be a dominant force on the surface for years to come. World number 26 Karen Khachanov has a solid game for all surfaces and he overcame fiery Fabio Fognini in straight sets to improve on a three-set scraping through against Jan-Lennard Struff in the first round. Khachanov and Alcaraz met only recently in the round of 16 at Roland-Garros, where the Russian had previously looked in excellent shape before Alcaraz dismissed him in straight sets. The Spaniard is well capable of doing so again here but he has not been at his very best this week and the outright pick looks the most sensible call here.
