World number one Carlos Alcaraz looks to have shaken off his blip in form since claiming a life-changing first Grand Slam title at the US Open last month. The 19-year-old came back from a set down to overcome Jack Draper in the first round of the Swiss Indoors but he has since improved markedly to oust both Botic van de Zandschulp and Pablo Carreno Busta in straight sets. He faces the man with the longest winning streak on the ATP tour next, though, in world number nine Felix Auger-Aliassime. The Canadian made it 11 wins on the spin with a straight-sets victory over Alexander Bublik on Friday and he can make a third-successive tour final by beating Alcaraz for a third time, leading the Spaniard as he does 2-0 in their head-to-head record. Auger-Aliassime may well have the best record on tour over Alcaraz come the end of this semi-final, although their first encounter was ended by injury at last season’s US Open.
