World number 11 Cam Norrie looked in great shape on Monday, beating French wildcard Manuel Guinard in straight sets to get his Roland-Garros campaign underway. The 10th seed is riding a six-match winning streak into the second round after winning a first ATP title on clay at last week’s Lyon Open and he will be a serious and creditable threat to any player outside of the elite in Paris. World number 160 Jason Kubler grabbed one of the results of his career to reach the second round, beating Denis Kudla in three sets on Sunday. The qualifier has impressed in his four matches so far at Roland-Garros but Norrie is clearly enjoying his tennis right now and another straight-sets victory is on the cards for the British number one. Backing Norrie outright in this first encounter with Kubler is wise but the 26-year-old has already won two ATP titles this season and he should be able to take this in three.
