World number 81 Bernarda Pera is riding a seven-match winning streak after claiming her maiden WTA title at the Hungarian Grand Prix last weekend, with back-to-back straight set wins over Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Joanne Zuger so far in Hamburg. The 27-year-old looks the slight favourite in this match-up on paper given her serious streak but world number 96 Katerina Siniakova has won both of their previous meetings on tour, including on clay at the Strasbourg Open back in 2020. The 26-year-old has been struggling with her singles form of late but she still claimed the Wimbledon Women’s Doubles title alongside long-term partner Barbora Krejcikova and she stunned the second seed Daria Kasatkina in three sets on Sunday. Given her record over Pera, take the Czech to win at least a set here and leave the winner up to chance in this very tight call. Both of their previous tour-level meetings came close in three sets.
