26-year-old Anett Kontaveit set a new career-high WTA world ranking of second at the start of this month after Roland-Garros points fell away from her competitors. The Estonian found the form of her career late last season, winning four tournaments in the space of two months on her way to a debut at the WTA Finals where she finished runner-up to Garbine Muguruza. Kontaveit is yet to get past the third round at Wimbledon, with her best Grand Slam showing a run to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in 2020. It will be intriguing to see how she fares at Wimbledon as the second seed with no grass-court matches under her belt so far this year but world number 119 Bernarda Pera has won just two tour-level matches this season and she is likely to be overpowered here.
