25-year-old Quentin Halys fares a decent chance at the upset here against unpredictable Benoit Paire. The younger Frenchman set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 84th this week after recent success on the Challenger circuits and he impressed in a three-set defeat to Emil Ruusuvuori at Queen’s two weeks ago. Former world number 18 Benoit Paire still has access to his silky shot-making but the 33-year-old owns a dire 3-16 record for 2022 as he looks to be plummeting down the rankings now at an alarming rate. Paire beat Halys in straight-sets in their only previous meeting back in 2018 but if Halys stays present over five sets he should be able to level things up. Back Halys to win outright here but always leave Paire’s matches out of accumulators.
