The 25-year-old won two Gold Medals this time last season at the Tokyo Olympic Games but she more recently claimed a fifth WTA title at the Charleston Open on clay and came close to a sixth at the Berlin Open in June before suffering an injury against Ons Jabeur. World number 38 Sorana Cirstea is coming off a disappointing first round exit at the Prague Open late last month and she may struggle to match the Swiss’ current level. The 32-year-old has won just three matches in Cincinnati across her career, failing to qualify at all in four of her last five, and backing Bencic to come through in straight sets looks a reasonable option here.
