World number 20 Roberto Bautista Agut played out a tight final with Stefanos Tsitsipas on Saturday, losing the final deciding tiebreak to the Greek. However, Bautista Agut reached the semi-finals here in 2019, taking the first set from eventual champion Novak Djokovic before defeat, and a strong run in Mallorca suggests he can be a threat here once again. This is a very winnable opening fixture with World number 330 Attila Balazs as the Hungarian continues to edge back from a long injury lay-off. Bautista Agut beat Balazs in straight sets in their only previous meeting at Roland-Garros back in 2020 and similar fare can be expected again.
