Libema Open top seed Aryna Sabalenka could really do with a convincing title-winning campaign here in ‘s-Hertogenbosch after what has been overall a poor season by her lofty standards. The former world number two lost from a set up to Camila Giorgi in the third round of Roland-Garros last time out but she enjoyed her best run of results so far in 2022 on clay, with two defeats late-on to Iga Swiatek suggesting she was in with a shout of further titles – definitely at the Stuttgart Open where she finished runner-up. World number 172 Arianne Hartono may never have a better shot at beating the likes of Sabalenka here but she will have to play the match of her life to do so. The Dutchwoman will be backed well by a home crowd but Sabalenka should have more than enough to win this first meeting in straight sets.
