THE PREDICTION
Libema Open top seed Aryna Sabalenka is yet to drop a set this week but she had to finish off her round of 16 match with Arianne Hartono early on Thursday. The 24-year-old’s world class serve has taken a beating this season and she could do with as much action on it as possible ahead of Wimbledon, where she exited at the semi-finals stage to eventual runner-up Karolina Pliskova. World number 46 Van Uytvanck grabbed one of the upsets of the week with a straight-sets victory over fellow Belgian Elise Mertens on Thursday. The 28-year-old is possibly at her best on the grass as a former quarter-finalist at Wimbledon and she too is yet to drop a set this campaign.
Van Uytvanck came back from a et down to beat Aryna Sabalenka at the Mallorca Championships on grass this time four years ago but Sabalenka returned the favour a year later at the St. Petersburg Open. This could be the match of the day if Van Uytvanck brings her battling best against Sabalenka’s sheer power but the top seed should eventually win through.
