ARTHUR FILS VS BEN SHELTON PREDICTION

Arthur Fils has made the quarter-finals in Tokyo but that was due to Matteo Berrettini retiring from their match in the round of 16 after the Italian won the first set 7-6. That handed Fils something of a reprieve although he came off a superb win over Taylor Fritz in three sets.

He meets another big-server here in Ben Shelton and the American comes into the quarters in good form. After beating Reilly Opelka in the first round, Shelton beat Mariano Navone in straight sets.

The young duo have met once before and that came last year in the Laver Cup. Shelton won that match 7-6 6-1 and we can see a similar enough result in that match. We just feel like Shelton measures up well against Fils in all areas and has the skillset to get the win here.
