World number 95 Danka Kovinic came back from a set down to fantastically upset in-form Liudmila Samsonova on Monday in another impressive turn at a Grand Slam this season. The Slovakian, also 27, also came back from a set down on Monday to bet Kristina Kucova and she leads Kovinic 2-1 in their tour-level head-to-head, although the pair have not met since this stage of the US Open in 2015. Two of their three meetings went the distance and taking this match to see three sets could be the valuable move here.
