Former world number one Angelique Kerber beat Elsa Jacquemot in straight sets on Wednesday to back-up an three-set comeback against Magdalena Frech on Monday. The 34-year-old is riding a seven-match winning streak from the Strabourg Open last week, her 14th WTA title, in which she beat Aliaksandra Sasnovich for a second time in the second round. Both of their previous encounters have gone to three sets, though, and world number 47 Sasnovich has been in excellent form this season. A three-set victory over Emma Raducanu was a well-contested battle and she came back from a set and a break down to in-form Veronika Kudermetova at the Italian Open in really impressive fashion. Sasnovich is playing well enough to break her current career-high WTA world ranking of 30th sooner rather than later and she looks good enough to take this to three. Backing Kerber to win at least a set is the sensible move but taking Kerber to win in three could be a reasonable risk.
