This should be a fascinating first meeting on tour between two rising stars in 19-year-old Qinwen Zheng and 21-year-old Anastasia Potapova, both of whom are enjoying breakthrough seasons. World number 39 Qinwen Zheng stunned the 16th seed Jelena Ostapenko in three sets on Tuesday in a continuation of her excellent level in recent months, with victories over Ons Jabeur and Bianca Andreescu at the Canada Masters earlier this month putting her at a working level well inside the top 30. Potapova claimed her maiden WTA title back in April at the Istanbul Open and she will set a new career-high WTA world ranking of around 44th after beating Claire Liu in comfortable straight sets. Both players have performed well across surfaces this season but the Chinese looks a serious talent everywhere she plays and ousting Ostapenko at a Grand Slam is a pretty big statement. Back her to beat Potapova outright here in a match that could go down to the wire.
