The 20-year-old won the second WTA title of her career at the start of the season in Melbourne, with her first coming on clay at the Bogota Open before a storming run to the Roland-Garros semi-finals announced her to the world stage in 2019. She faces a tough match here against fourth seed Ons Jabeur, who played some of her top quality tennis on Friday to beat in-form Anhelina Kalinina in straight sets. The 27-year-old is yet to drop a set this week but a first meeting with Anisimova will be by far her toughest match of the campaign and it could be a thriller with both players capable of whipping up a crowd.
