World number 114 Harriet Dart is through to her first-ever WTA tour quarter-final after coming back from a set down to stun Camila Giorgi on Thursday. The 25-year-old has already impressed this season with a run from nowhere to the round of 16 at Indian Wells back in March and she can break her career-high WTA world ranking of 99th with a further win here against Alison Riske. 31-year-old Riske, however, is a consummate professional with a penchant for grass – as her best Grand Slam run attests to with a quarter-final exit at Wimbledon back in 2019. The world number 40 is yet to drop a set this week and as a former finalist here from 201 her experience should be favoured over Dart’s treading new ground, even though the Brit will be well-backed at home. Riske won the second of her three WTA titles on grass at ‘s-Hertogenbosch and backing the American to win outright here seems sensible given her prowess on the surface.
