THE PREDICTION
This should be a fun match on Monday between world number 47 Alexander Bublik and number 72 Hugo Gaston as two wildly different playstyles clash. 25-year-old Bublik is an all-in kind of tennis player with two first serves and no Plan B but the Kazakh’s lax attitude belies a really impressive set of skills that can catch out anybody on his day, including Alexander Zverev whom he beat to win his first ATP title at the Montpellier Open back in February. 21-year-old Gaston is also something of a cult-hit on tour, especially in his native France where he has reached the round of 16 at Roland-Garros and the quarter-finals at the Paris Masters. The Frenchman stunned Carlos Alcaraz in Paris last year, and troubled eventual champion Daniil Medvedev, on an indoor hardcourt to throw aside the idea he was a clay specialist but he can be overpowered by the likes of big-serving Bublik if the Kazakh turns up here. Leave this likely entertaining but totally unpredictable match out of an accumulator but otherwise take Bublik to win at least two sets with Gaston so far struggling on hardcourts this month.
