World number 38 Alexander Bublik has been enjoying a solid few months on his favoured indoor hardcourts and a straight-sets victory over Aslan Karatsev on Monday was in keeping with that form. The 25-year-old finished runner-up to Lorenzo Sonego at the Moselle Open this time last month and he claimed his maiden ATP title in similar conditions at the Montpellier Open earlier this year to suggest he is the fair favourite in this round of 16 clash. World number 40 Albert Ramos-Vinolas claimed the fourth ATP title of his career this season, all on clay, at the Cordoba Open and whilst he is a dogged competitor on any surface the Spaniard will be eagerly awaiting next spring for a return to where his tennis plays best. Bublik has won both of their previous encounters, including on clay at the 2020 Hamburg Open, and backing the Kazakh to reach the quarter-finals looks a solid option here.
