ALEX DE MINAUR VS MARIANO NAVONE PREDICTION

Alex de Minaur had a good week in Vienna last week and picked up some good wins over the likes of Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Mensik. There were signs of him struggling a little as Karen Khachanov dominated him in the semis so it is hoped there are no underlying injuries and it was fatigue if anything.

He spoke coming into this event about ‘a lot of mental battles going on’ and he is seemingly still experiencing some hip pain. How he handles those especially when things go against him, will dictate how far he goes in these events right now.

He meets Mariano Navone in the first round and he has never played the Argentine before. He should however be confident against the clay-court specialist in Paris and it is arguably the kindest draw he could have received. While he may not be 100% still, he should have enough to win this opening match but be wary of De Minaur as the tournament goes on.
