32-year-old Sorana Cirstea has enjoyed a career renaissance over the last year or so, winning the second WTA title of her career at last season’s Istanbul Open over a decade after her first came in 2008 at the Tashkent Open. The Romanian reached the semi-finals of the Birmingham Classic last week but she was forced to retire in the first round of the Eastbourne International on Monday. Cirstea beat Aleksandra Krunic comfortably in the second round of that run in Birmingham and if she recovers in time to take to court it would be a surprise to see a different outcome here. Back the 26th seed to win in straight sets, although it would be wise to wait for match confirmation.
