This is a very surprising final pairing between world number 105 Aleksandra Krunic and number 130 Bernarda Pera but both players are deserving after sweeping the field this week. Both have reached the final without dropping a set, with Krunic knocking out the defending champion Yulia Putintseva on Saturday and Pera beating in-form Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the round of 16. 27-year-old Pera is through to her first ever WTA tour final out of the blue and she leads Krunic 2-0 in their head-to-head record with victories at the Guangzhou Open in 2018 and last season’s Kremlin Cup. That should give the American plenty of confidence coming in but Krunic has won a title before, at ‘s-Hertogenbosch in 2018, and she has been in serious form this week. Backing the Serb to win at least a set as the likelier of the two to lift the trophy.
