22-year-old Alejandro Davidovich Fokina will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of at least 27th after reaching a first final on the ATP tour, let alone a Masters final. The Spaniard overcame a strong challenge from Grigor Dimitrov on Saturday to back-up some seriously impressive results over Taylor Fritz and Novak Djokovic this week. World number five Stefanos Tsitsipas took out the third seed Alexander Zverev on Saturday in two impressive sets to extend his head-to-head record against the German to 7-3. The Greek is the defending Monte-Carlo Open champion here after a stunning run last season in which he beat Davidovich Fokina via a second-set retirement in the quarter-finals. More recently, the pair shared a three-set battle at the Rotterdam Open in February but both players have sprung into much sharper form on the clay.
There is probably some unfinished business for the Spaniard after that disappointing injury against Tsitsipas last year but the Greek is likely to find a way through over three sets with the self-belief of a reigning champion. Back Tsitsipas to win outright.
