World number 37 Albert Ramos-Vinolas is a tough draw for anyone at the Monte-Carlo Open as a clay specialist through and through, although he should have beaten Tallon Griekspoor in less than his three sets on Monday. 26-year-old Cam Norrie set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 10th this week after a strong showing across the ‘Sunshine Double’ of Indian Wells and the Miami Open, losing to the eventual runners-up on both occasions. However, this has proved a tough match-up for him in the past with Ramos-Vinolas winning all three of their meetings on clay, including last season’s Estoril Open final for a 3-1 lead in their head-to-head. Norrie won their most recent meeting at Queen’s on grass last summer but backing the Spaniard to win at least a set looks the sensible call here in a match that should see three sets.
