THE PREDICTION
This will be the third meeting between world number 70 Adrian Mannarino and number 64 Brandon Nakashima, with the head-to-head record finely poised at a win apiece. 20-year-old Nakashima claimed their most recent meeting in straight sets at Indian Wells back in March, soon after Mannarino won their opener in three at the Delray Beach Open in February. Both players have grabbed impressive results this week in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Nakashima came back from a set down to beat Tommy Paul in the first round and then took out grass specialist Sam Querrey in straight sets to see each of his five sets this week go to tiebreaks, whilst Mannarino shocked the fourth seed Alex de Minaur in two on Thursday.
33-year-old Mannarino has also seen half of his sets this week go to tiebreakers and that makes for a useful combination here to avoid a winner. Given Nakashima has won at least a set in both of their previous meeting, take that option plus at least a tiebreak in the match.
