THE PREDICTION
19-year-old qualifier Maria Camila Osorio Serrano is making a name for herself at SW19 after taking out the 32nd seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in straight sets on Wednesday. The world number 94 won her first WTA title earlier this season in her native Colombia and after a strong clay-court season she has successfully transferred her game to the grass. Osorio Serrano will face Aryna Sabalenka for the first time in what is certainly the biggest match of her young career here and the teenager has a genuine chance at the upset.
World number four Sabalenka has blown hot and cold throughout her two matches at Wimbledon so far but she claimed a rare three-set victory over Katie Boulter ion Centre Court on Wednesday. The 23-year-old is still young and has plenty of improving to do, especially in her decision making, but she navigated a tricky test yesterday as the villain of the piece. Sabalenka is the firm favourite to blast her way through this first meeting with Osorio Serrano but the Colombian will be fearless. The safe option is to take Sabalenka to win at least a set but taking Osorio Serrano to grab at least one of her own seems reasonable on performances so far.
